The typical search image of the foil has lots of features. The impact craters can be identified by looking for a bright circular or elliptical rim, with a dark center.

The one real crater on this image is indicated by the Red arrow.

Dark spots without bright rims are generally holes in the foil. These often appear to be slightly square, rather than circular.

Bright white spots, without a clear dark center, are surface contaminants.
